Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and the National Defense Authorization Act of 2002, the Centennial School District is required to comply with a request by a military recruiter for secondary students' names, addresses, and telephone numbers, unless parents have advised the school district that they do not want their student's information disclosed without their prior written consent.
Parents have the right to request that the information listed above not be disclosed, and shall forward such requests to the high school principal.
The District is required to and will provide military recruiters the same access to secondary school students as is provided to post secondary institutions or prospective employers.
The District will notify parents of the above requirements as part of the annual notification under this policy and the Family Education Right of Privacy Act.
This notice shall be publicized on an annual basis through the District calendar, the District cable station, the District web site, and postings in school offices.
