 Black and White Synchronized Swimming

The competition that sets our spirit night apart from all others is Synchronized Swimming!  Teams work to create a synchronized pool routine complete with lots of lifts and fancy flips!  This performance wows the crowd at Pool Night, which takes place on Thursday, February 22nd.  

If you are interested in trying out for your team, please fill out the form on your Class Canvas page!

·         Tryouts will begin on Monday, February 5th in the pool

o    Black Team will meet from 4:30 - 5:25

o    White Team will meet from 5:30 - 6:25

·         All participants must fill out the Permission Form before participating in tryouts.  

Photos of Clubs and Organizations will be taken for the yearbook on Thursday, February 15th in the auditorium. Make sure to check in with your club advisor before this date for your scheduled time slot.

 On March 7 at 6 pm, WTHS will host its Annual Open Mic Night in the WT Library.  Students who would like to perform original poems, stories, songs or musical pieces are encouraged to sign up!  Last year we had over 25 student performers recite works in the library which is transformed into a coffee house.  Show your talents and raise your voice.  We can't wait to see what you can do!

Do you like watching movies? Are you currently binge watching something on Netflix? Then why not make your own movie?  This year the 9th Annual Behind the Lens Film Festival is on May 1st in the auditorium. The deadline to submit entries is April 5. Your films will be judged by industry professionals and Awards will be given during the red-carpet gala. See Mrs. McCaffery in the TV studio with any questions. For more information on how to submit your film, just scan the QR code found on Canvas, outside the TV studio and in other locations throughout the building.  You won't want to miss your chance to have your work on the big screen. 

Black and White T-shirts will be on sale at all lunches.  Shirts are $10 for S-L and $12 for XL-2XL.  Wear your shirt to Gym Night for free admission! 

The Health Science Exploration Club will be hosting Caitlyn Moynahan, the Assistant Director of Temple University’s College of Public Health. She will be here on Wednesday, February 7th at 2:30 in room C101 to discuss the many programs available for undergraduate students. 

She will present information on nursing, speech pathology, kinesiology and exercise science, social work, recreational therapy, health information management, and more.

Attention all Seniors! It is time to think about Scholarships for College. Even if you're waiting on a college acceptance letter, you can still apply for scholarships. The mentors and teachers in The Panther Writing Lab are here to help. Come to the Library, daily during all lunches, if you'd like Writing Lab help in navigating Naviance, drafting a scholarship essay, or even if you simply don't know where to begin. 1.     The Senior Countdown: Running now until June 6th!  Stop by the outside of the library to see the banner.  Each school day, we will remove one ring until graduation day!

2.     Is it Swift or Shakespeare?: Contest runs until February 14th!  Inside the library, we have a bulletin board where students can look at 23 quotes and guess which ones are written by Shakespeare and which ones are written by Taylor Swift.  Students have the opportunity to win a prize box which includes some Tennent Swag and other fun items!

3.     Blind Date with a Book: Contest runs until February 29th!  During February, students can come in read a card description, and decide whether they want to check a book out.  You can then unwrap the book and see whether or not you're a match.  When you turn it, you fill out a brief form and you're entered to win a prize pack.  Prizes will be awarded for Best Review, Most Blind Dates (limit one per day) and a Random Drawing.

4.     New Year, New You: Contest runs until February 29th!  Check out one of our "Self-Help" books, write a quick review, and turn it in by February 29th to be entered to win a prize.  Topics include "How not to be a perfectionist, managing your money, dealing with anxiety and so much more.  Start the year with some motivation and ways to improve yourself.

You can bring guests in grade 9 or higher who do not attend Tennent.  Like Homecoming, there will be great food (including Chick Fil-A and Yum Yum Donuts), a photo booth, caricatures, a great DJ with a super light show, and much more.  

Tickets will be sold this week on the following dates:
